Default GS350 AWD - info needed!

Hi guys,

I am looking into importing GS350 AWD to Europe, while I can (I can get 15k difference in pricing if I get it this year).

So I need more info on the car:
- what kind of mpg are you getting?
- how good is the awd in snow/rain (50/50 distribution???)
- Ride quality/Cornering?
- Anything else you can think of?

And what are the deals ppl got on theirs? I am going to get 2008 MY probably so I know I will skip on few deals, but still...

Thanks a lot - I know ryan got his, so it has to be an good car :P

MPG wise, I get an average of 24MPG and that's about 60% highway/40% city.

I have no problem in the rain but I haven't experienced the snow yet.

Ride quality is great. It's quiet and comfortable. I've taken a couple of road trips so far and I really feel great after I arrive. As far as cornering wise, I can't really comment since I don't know what you're looking for; however, I can tell you that I feel confident going 50MPH on a ramp.

How tall are you? The only complaint I really have is headroom. I am only 5'11" (180cm) and occasionally I hit my head when I'm reaching for things at drive-thrus. In addition, the opening to the trunk's kind of small. I can fit 3 sets of golf clubs but I need to maneuver them around.

Anyways, good luck. I love my GS350 AWD and I don't regret buying it at all.

I'm getting 18mpg city and 22-24 hw.
AWD in snow last winter was awesome. We had a couple of storms that dropped 9+ inches of snow and I was able to get around just fine. I also lowered my car, which IMO really improved the cornering and ride (a bit firmer). I'm loving my GS and ready for another winter.

The headline is a bit low so make sure you can get comfortable in the car (visit a showroom and check one out). Every now and then if I am wearing a baseball cap it knocks on the roof but that's about it. It's not so much your height but how long your back is. I have my seat at its lowest setting and I have about 1.5 inches (about the width of 2 fingers) clearance between the top of my head and the roof while sitting back in my seat.

While I have not experienced snow, it is very solid in rain. Ride quality is nice but if you are used to German cars it may feel a little isolated from the road from a handling view.

Options wise, I basically got everything and the only one I would change is the Adaptive Radar Cruise; it drives like an 80 year old.

It comes with standard 17 inch rims that are very Toyota like. The run flats are most times Dunlops and they are bad; stiff and noisy. I would strongly recommend getting one of the 18 inch upgrade rims on purchase. You can go aftermarket but be prepared to deal with some tire pressure monitoring system issues upfront (why I would by the 18s as an option; lexus deals with the tpms registration stuff).

I get 23-24 mpg with 70-30 highway city.

Good luck, I have 4000 miles on my car and am very happy with it.

I am from Minnesota and the AWD works much better in snow than I would ever have imagined. It goes through the snow 8 plus inches with no problem. That is good, so that you can get off the road so that no out of control SUV can hit you! : - )

Ride is quiet and smooth.

Does the car corner? Yes, you turn the wheel and it corners. (never sure what this means - Do people ever try to turn at 80 MPH!)

I get about 22 Mpg around the city and 30 mpg on a Roadtrip.
