Question what tire sizes to use with 20's and a drop

Can anyone tell me what front tire size to run on an 8.5x20 wheel? People seem to be using a 245/35/20 tire but have rubbing issues when they lower the car. Ifound that that size is 1.1 inches larger in diameter than stock. I think they should be using a 255/30 or a 245/30. can anyone shed some light on this for me/ I ordered a set of staggered wheels , and I plan to lower my car in the future and I dont want any rubbing issues.

245/30 would be right in spec, but that's very thin tires, if roads are good around you, it's ok

How low was your drop when you were rubbing with the 35's up front.

A lot depends on which tire you choose and how low you drop it. Some tires come fatter than others. I got Tanbe NF210 springs and 245-35-20 Bridgestone RE960's and there is almost no rubbing. Only get it on unexpected big dips. Normal roads are rub free.

I am going to do the 255/30 or the 245/30. The 255/30 has a hair more side wall. Is there anyone out there who is running 255/30 up fornt with a drop
