I agree. They would only suit the car if the bumper openings were shaped perfectly around them.

It's actually embarassing. You can't defend it.

Honestly why would Lexus brass care about the R8 or Murcielago ? Look at the AMGs and Bmw Ms - they have true and functional dual exhaust tips, and this is exactly the segment the F cars should be aimed squarely at, starting with the aforementioned IS-F. Think about it, the original LS was created to target the MB S class, and they nailed that segment. . .

you missed my point (or MR_F1). everyone is praising cars like the R8 or mur, but no one ditch them for their "fake" exhaust tips. but then everyone stab lexus on the is-f, isn't that funny? whether the is-f is in the same league of r8 or m3 that doesn't matter, we are talking about the fundamental of the exhaust tips here. imagine someone post up a picture of the r8 and then you post "bah, fake exhaust tips" let's see what's the response?

and don't even bring up the subject on "functional" exhaust tips. they are never functional, they are cosmetic items imho

oh well, just my opinions. it will never end anyway

I think the tips are fake and fine. i dont think anyone is buying the car with the whole hearted goal of swapping off the rear bumper.

I think we will just get used to it. Lets hope the IS-F actually sells!!!!

You mean his comment about Lambo being fake? Well, I'll look at one next I see one.
But I care more about what Lexus is doing than another brand. I visit many other sites and they rag on the ISF for the fake pipes. I can't defend it. Especially since I don't think it's cool either.
