I did exactly what flipside909 said to do. and it seemed to work good. Now, when i press the voice activation button on my steering wheel.....all i get is a beep. (No female voice prompting me to "say a command after the tone") And thats exactly what i want.

To my understanding (which is far from correct all the time!!) the directions flipside909 gave was to turn off the prompt as i described earlier. i read your earlier posts you were talking about using the Nav and calling out states/cities etc..., i dont know the Nav unit functions well enough to tell you if its even possible to do that using the voice activation so???? Maybe your thinking the unit does more than it allows you to??!!! all i can say is i turned off ONLY the (1) VAG option and yes, i now have only a beep instead of a voice prompt. What the other (2) options are....i have no idea??

Again......try to read the manual, see what it says.

Mine's off. Funny thing is, my husband was driving this morning and he has no idea yet how to use the NAV system, so he NEEDS the voice prompts (until he learns it).
