If you lowered your AWD ride read this
Hey all,
I love my AWD GS350... bar none the best car I've ever owned. But one thing that bugs me about Lexus advertising is that every picture they show of a new GS350 (even when you build an AWD model) shows no wheel gap. Let me know your thoughts via the poll.
Thanks

No love for the GS300 AWDs? Haha, I'm taking the poll anyways. I didn't realize how large the wheel gap was until I got it. I couldn't stand looking at it so I got the NF210's to drop it. What a difference like night and day.

Of couse GS300 AWD! SGT
I also didn't see the gap when picking up my GS350 AWD at the dealership.
I did see your earlier post (Hope you don't mind), the drop with Tanabe NF210 is really nice! Love it!!
But I'm bit of conservative (wanna drop just a little), I would like to see some Tein H.Tech springs on AWDs first.

Ahhh, yes... GS300's as well. Sorry, I didn't mean to leave anyone out of the poll. Especially SGT, since he was the one that helped me when I was trying to decide if I should drop it or not. Thanks SGT!
I just wish Lexus would have sold me the same exact car I saw in all the pictures. I bought my AWD site unseen since they didn't have any AWD's on the lot in my area. When I took it home and noticed the gap, I was like man, that's not how it looks on lexus.com. Curious what happened to others.
Thanks everyone.

sb...I too purchased mine site unseen...I've said it before...I hate the wheel gap...its pathetic. Waiting for either Tein or Tanabe to come out with a coilover set-up.
btw...why did CR drop the AWD from their suggested to buy list?

Shoot, didn't realize the poll was for those who already lowered their AWD. Scratch my vote from the Option #4
I guess after coming off ES350 buyback, I was too overwhelmed with GS350 and didn't see the gap. Now its staring at me every time I approach the car and also makes wheels look small. I can say this with confidence that I love EVERYTHING about this car 100%, except for that wheel gap. But, I'm still on a fence if I want to drop it. Last winter snow ride and handling was fantastic, and the car did even better than my wife's AWD Highlander. Plus, I put about 100 miles a day in my commute and have to go through some crappy NJ pothole areas. I'm just enjoying a freedom of driving anywhere without thinking about road up hill or parking next to a high curb or going through construction or railroad area. That is a definite piece of mind when you don't have to constantly slow down or around area which are no go in a lowered car. But than, when I get out of the car and look and look back, I see a 4x4 performance ride LOL!!!

And I would like to love the 3GS 100% but the darn lighting in the car just kills me...

Why do people assume the Tein H tech springs are more "conservative" than the Tanabe NF 210's? I checked the specs and they are almost identical with a slight edge in favor of the Tanabe's (0.1 inch less of a drop).
My guess is two identical GS cars (same model, same wheels and tires) would look the same with either the Tein H or Tanabe NF springs.

The spring rates are very different for front and rear.
Tanabe NF210 4.6/5.8 kgf/mm
Tein H-Tech 3.7/4.6 kgf/mm
