Question Nondealer Service in Socal

Can anyone recommend any reliable and reasonably priced auto (nondealer) shops for servicing and repairs in Southern California? The Lexus dealerships are rip-offs! Does anyone know if servicing or repairs at a nondealer invalidates the warranty at all? Sorry if that's a stupid question!

Ancient thread bump. I have the same question as the OP. In addition to the GS, I have a '97 ES that needs some repair. Does anyone know of a reputable independent Lexus repair facility in the Redondo Beach, CA area? I took my vehicle to a neighborhood mechanic because the fan blower would not operate at high speed. After he replaced the resistor without success, he informed me "the module" would need to be replaced at a cost of $456. In addition, he quoted the Timing belt/wp/belt tensioner/drive belt change at $1100. Would love to get a local 2nd opinion.
Thank-you,
-Corey
