Installing a dvd player to work on the OEM GS350 screen?
Hey guys,
Is it possible to utilize the OEM touch screen as a monitor if we install an aftermarket DVD player? My last 2 cars had DVD players and I'm definitely needing one for my GS. Has anyone done this before or can it even be done?
(I also noticed that some ppl have commented saying that their cars came equipped with DVD players. Which model GSs have that?)

Yup, ive been testing the SL2VI for about two weeks now. Works great on the non ML nav system. I beleive they are already sellin units for our cars. It would be nice if it had an aternate video input, but the iPod video input is great.
Another option you have is the NAV tV module that allows you to attach any video source via RCA cable. I believe it does the same thing as the vais unit. Uses an alternate screen input (unused on the non ML system, 6 pin connector) and unlocks the DVD menu in the NAV unit:

Video input comes in thru the port circled in the pic below:

Wow! I think that option that you pointed out from ebay seems to be the best option. It's just plug and play! awesome! That really gives me something to think about.
