Question Special order question

Let's say I want to special order a 2008 GS350 and NOT choose:

"Wood- and leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift **** $330"

I've never seen an all leather sheering wheel on a GS in several years, but I'd like one. (One fully loaded 2008 GS without the wood on the steering wheel did show up in VA recently, as verified by another poster in these forums.)

Does anyone know how hard it would be order and get a fully loaded GS350 of a particular combo WITHOUT the wood on the steering wheel option?

probably pretty hard. Just get a cover like me. i hate the wood to, but in the GS line, probably a rare thing to find a all leather wheel.

Yes, but does anyone know if this would be any harder than any other special order?

I am not talking about having my dealer find one somewherea already in the US or find one on allocation already coming in. I am talking about a true special order that'll probably take 3(??) months to get here from Japan.

ya know, i thought about the same thing

it does look a lot better and you know what, i am sure it's just one less "CLICK" for the dealer when they special order it.

now you just have to find a dealer willing to go thru the trouble to make sure exactly what you want is what you end up getting.

technically you SHOULD get whatever you want. each option has a two digit code, and that's how they order it.

however, the trouble w/ the wheel is that it MAY come bundled as part of some other package group, so you can't have one without the other. from lexus.com it doens't seem like they have "premium plus" packages anymore (or whatever you call it), so maybe you can do it. but i have a feeling from looking at lexus.com that if you get Nav, you're going to get a lot of the other stuff...

basically you go the dealer and you tell them exactly what you want and they should submit is as just that - if there are any problems or conflicts they should let you know.

here are the codes from edmunds (there may be more, it's still early for 2008 so this is what they have right now):

getting a custom order isn't hard, a lot of dealership can do that. how much you are going to pay for that car, that's what you should ask yourself. a lot of time they say it's close to msrp. at least not as much discount as those on the lot usually.
