all the nav functions work - sat radio - fm radio - am radio - nav - climate - everything. they must have changed the design or that cable is only for the ML radios
And do all the bluetooth functions work - meaning you can dial a phone number while moving, or at least use your phone book (in addition to speed dial)?

What about seeing information on CDs, particular MP3s that have all the information embedded?

This is a non-ML 2007, Gen 5, 7.1?

in his profile he has a 08 gs350

if on his car the only problem is the nav 30 secs, then i have a feeling that on 07 gs with non-ML with 6.1, the nav override will work in full

Thank You Mark of Prestigous Society VIP Tuning for getting us another unit.

I just did the install of this unit in a 2007 GS350 with Nav & ML...

Install went well except for the gray plug fitment issue and then the wire connection / terminal on the very same harness had to be redone.. (by me)

It was actually easier than the IS350.

So I have a question for the 2007 GS owners with this overide unit..??

Its a 07/07 build running 6.1 nav disc.. but actually when you go into the Tech Service menu it states Denso V 06.05.12

When traveling on the freeway above 50mph the lock out only lasts approx. 30 seconds.. so you then press the nav button off, wait 2 seconds and press it again to get 30 more seconds...

Then while driving on surface streets at speeds less than 30mph it seems to last the 5 mins..

So it seems to have the same symptoms as the 2008 GS ??

I didn't have enough time to do many tests.. But I confirmed the 30 second window for the Nav to lock out (@ higher speeds) and i confirmed the loss of audio of DVD when the Nav overide button is pressed.. which we know about already..

Any helpful info would be greatly appreciated...

I had an idea to upgrade the GS with a 7.1 Nav disc from my IS350.. but not sure...

So any thoughts or inputs would be awesome..!!!

Thanks
Joe Z

for what it's worth i have a 2006 (not 2008) GS300 using nav dvd 7.1 and i have the 30 second lock out behavior above about 30 to 40 mph. below that speed, it's longer, maybe 60 to 90 seconds but not 5 minutes.

I don't know what specs/tolerances these kits were built to but I think we have to at least consider part of the variability may be in the kits themselves. there just doesn't seem to be a pattern with the cars.

^^ Well it could also be the actual Nav Disc version as well...

If some of you with the full 5 minutes in the 2007 GS's can pull some data for me.. I could be getting closer to solving the mystery..

The 2007 GS I just worked on was built on 07/07 and it has Nav version 6.1..

When acessing the Tech Service Menu and you go to Nav Menu for Parts and Information, it will give you the version of the Nav and the actual Denso Disc Version..

Here is my camera phone screen shot I took..

Thank You

i doubt that, never saw a single issue on any is250/350 and ls460/460l/600hl.

it's only 3gs that i see inconsistent results. i start to have some thoughts in mind but i won't share until tested

Henry you can share with me.... LoL..

BTW, i forgot to ask...
Do the 2007 GS models show a language selection along with and next to the "I agree" button, upon system start up???

I know my 08' IS350 does not have the "I agree" due to 7.1..

Thanks

Sorry I didn't return your call yesterday. Yes I have the same symptoms while driving at those speeds with the NAV override timeout.

huh?! ryan, you also have the 30 secs time out issue? i thought you tested it before and it was 5 full mins? guess you weren't driving fast enough?

does that mean EVERYONE out there with 3gs and the override has the 30 secs issue?!

Just installed mine! Works Great!

By the way, if you purchase through ebay its a lot cheaper: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=150232662847

It's $219.00 + $9.95 shipping.

I'm local and picked it up from him. He gave me a better deal that way. Good luck!
