Also, I modified the module plug that replaced the blue plug. I took a razor blade and just pushed it through to cut it off. Now the plug slides in like how it is suppose to. I did this because the plug doesn't fit perfectly. You have to wedge it in or cut it.

Sorry the picture was taken with my camera phone.

David, glad everything works out. For some reasons the harness for the GS is not as perfect as ones on the IS or LS. Again thank you very much for the business.

When I push the Nav button while listening to a cd, the sound turns off, then when I turn off the Nav button the sound comes back on. Is there any way around this?

David, for today's installation, it appears that when overriding the Navigation, it cuts off the audio part of the DVD playback. We will try to confirm if the audio cut off during override is the first known negative for GS override module. Stay tuned....

I think it was working at first but after the Nav override turned off automatically after 5 mins, I turned it back on and then the audio cut off. Then I noticed that when you turn it off the audio comes back on.

on the unit i installed today, i also noticed that during the nav override, audio got cut off. it was on dvd though, i didn't test it on cd or mp3 cd. if that's really the case, then it's one thing that's completely different from 2is and 4ls

I guess there is a problem with the audio during the nav override and I'm not the only one with that issue. I wonder if it can be fixed... This problem is a pain in the @$$. It's a hassle to skip through songs to hear the first few seconds of it without any audio.

The install was done on my car today by Rominl. I was able to verify that any DVD's audio gets cutoff while doing the NAVI override, but the video will continuously play. If i'm playing an MP3 regular CD Audio and use the NAVI override simultaneously, it will work normally.

so ryan, both audio cd and mp3 cd don't have audio muted when you are using nav override? if so, then i guess the limitation is there when you are playing dvd discs

Here's where I decided to locate my switch. More to come.

Just want to make sure that I am not missing something here. Does this product offer any operational advantage over the mod (cutting 2 wires, installing a switch), aside from the obvious?

It is actually 3 wires to do the mod for nav and ML video, BT. Cutting mod offers better functionality IMO, like the BT is always enabled, the Video is always enabled, the mp3 file browsing is enabled, only nav input is switch dependent, however not cutting wires is a wonderful thing on a 50K car. When I cut the wires on my car, this thing did not exist yet. I would find it slightly annoying to press a button to enable the dial pad each time i want to dial out. Rominl can chime in on the functionality too.
