Interesting--judging from the fact that the info was from February '07 and it's not on their web site, it looks like not.
I also wonder if it was only for the '07 430 since the specs reference the 07's. How different is that engine?

Was 07 when they went to the 460 V8 or was that in 08? I think the 06/07 models share the same engine but I may be wrong. I am not in tune with the GS and when all the changes where made.

There was a twin-turbo for the 430 posted here somewhere in the past few months...maybe in the vendor section. I think it was about $8K.

Wikipedia saves the day - "Due to a change in SAE testing procedures, the 2007 GS 430 horsepower (320 kW) rating was changed to 290 (with 319 ft·lbf (433 N·m). of torque)"
So, that's the reason for the specs being different.

07 was still 430, but they changed the HP and torque ratings. I thought it was a different engine. I've seen it stated that the 06 430 kept the same engine as the previous generation. I would think there would be a reason to make that distinction if the was no change from 06 to 07.

8k for a turbo kit is crazy

Maybe the thread in the ISF section will shine some light and that could be a nice positive gain for many of us. Its a matter of time to see if they can or cant crack the code.

I would have expected more power from the addition of 2 chargers but I guess they are trying to keep it tame. It's enough power for getting the job done though.
Not really feeling the side skirts, for some reason they are not flowing well enough with the front. At least not imo.
I can live without lipped wheels but I would expect them to concave inwards, for that aggressive look.
Overall, nice stuff.

I am not sure and never followed this car so I am doing lots of digging and research to find stuff out. I just may have to see some shops locally to see what they can offer if anything.
8k for a turbo kit is crazy
at least for me it is for the minimal gains we can get and the amt of boost that can be run. I would go get another car before I did that
Thanks for the info![Thumb Up](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

I can't say the price really matters to me, because I'm not going to do any more than read about it

Since the 2GS has the same 4.3 it seems the old 5 speed was built to handle about 400hp tops. So your first issue is the tranny. Then you have to fight the compression. The S/C was good for 100hp tops. I've seen custom tubo setups do 600hp with this engine but its a very tight fit and it costs way more than 8k.
The 3GS has this same engine but with a 6 speed. As stated the SAE ratings changed the HP rating but nothing changed including performance. The number changed, that is all.
The 4.3 simply is not a tubo/FI engine. It does respond to it but with minimal gains

No room
. The GS 460 doesn't even have the dual intakes like the LS does.
I will make the assumption that its also not an FI engine, the compression is even higher than the 4.3.
Seems it was decided to drop the 5.0 in the LS 600hL in the IS, so I guess that is what "makes sense". The GS 460 already has the tranny, just needs the engine. I assume it would need a hood "bulge" like the IS.
Who knows, if there is sadly, a wrecked IS-F with an engine in good condition, it might make a great project!
The 5.0 in the IS-F is conservative at its 416hp. From my understanding it could hit 450 easy and even 500, making it a 100hp per liter engine.
