Default 2008 Leather seats nicer than the 2007?

Went and sat in the GS460 and immediately noticed the way softer leather than in my 07 GS350! The seats don't have the piping that my seats have, just the double stitching. The feel and smell of the GS460 leather remind me of the mercedes premium leather... i love it! Does anyone know if thats exclusive to the V8 or does the 2008 GS350 have the new leather too?

I **think** it might be the semi-aniline leather. It is standard on the GS450h, and I believe an option in the 460 but not on the 350. Hard to tell precisely from the Lexus site, given all the mistakes and somewhat contradictory statements to date regarding the changes for 2008.

Apparently it's standard on the GS460, at least according to Edmunds.

"The 2008 GS 460 also gets semi-aniline leather trim in the cabin and ventilated front seats as standard items."

Looks like the piping is no longer present on the 350 as well.

I had a chance to check the 08 GS350, 450h, and 460 side by side. Only the GS460 has the softer seats... not sure if it's an option for the hybrid but at least not on the displayed GS450h.

I noticed that too sitting in a GS460 a few weeks back. I've also come to notice the steering wheel thickness on the 08 vs 06-07 is a little larger.

so the 08 has a bit thicker steering wheel? just on 460 or on all 3gs?

All the 08 3GS. It's thicker at the wood section.

Semi-aniline, while softer, is supposed to be harder to take care of. Even attracts stains from jeans based on what I've read on other parts of this board. I like mine tho. Very comfy so far.

that can be true. thank god i have black interior

but from my experience so far the semi-aniline seems to be more "resistant" to wrinkles

I have the ash non semi aniline leather, it stains very easily. Semi aniline is just amazing...

Visually there is no real difference.

Your 07 has the same leather as the rest of the 07 GS models.
