Trade in IS350 for a GS350 ?
Did a quick search, didn't find much feedback, so thought I'd start a thread. I'm debating trading in my '06 IS350 for a GS350. Looking for feedback from owners that have done the same: do they regret it, was it a good move or would they have chose another car. Main reason for the upgrade is family needs have changed and I could use a bigger car with more backseat room than the IS. TIA.

I agree, you gonne have almost double the space in the 3GS then in the 2IS... so go ahead with it... you not gonne regret it...

What is the reason for switching? I don't have either, but from my little bit of driving the IS and GS at this year's Taste of Lexus event, if you don't need the rear space, keep the IS350. It was much better than the GS around corners and straight line, but that's a DUH since it's a smaller car. If you're having passengers in back often, or you have even kids over the age of five, then IS back is worthless...

If finances are in order and that is a need and a SUV is not in the cards, then do it. No shame in the IS350 game either.

Bobbyt01nc - wife's daily driver is an Mdx, so don't really want another suv/cuv. The IS is my daily driver and is perfect 80% of the time, but obviously can't get the whole family in it at the same time. In fact can't take all 3 kids with me at once.
Thanks for all the feedback guys, keep 'em coming

my first car was the IS300 and if you want to talk about small, that car fit the bill. I got a GS350 over the summer because of the space issue. I really wanted to convince myself that a g37 coupe was really me, I am young (21), single, and don't carry any "stuff" around. However, I always seem to be carrying people around with me, therefore the IS was essentially out of the running because the lack of a real back seat.
Small, two and two + two sport cars and sport sedan's are really a fun idea.... in theory. My dad drives a SL550 and even then he complains about not being able to take his friends out to lunch in it. Moral of the story being, get the GS is you want a real back seat and a more substantial feeling car.

In that case you may want to look at something else... I really have a hard time getting 3 kids buckled into car-seats in the back of my GS. I used to have an RL...and it was a pain...but do'able. With the GS...because of the 'thigh bolsters' in the back seats, and the slightly raised center.. the seats sit at an angle... and there is no room to get your hands between them to buckle.

Not planning to put all 3 car seats in the back, can barely do this in the Mdx and the Mdx is a much wider vehicle. With the front seat passenger sensor, I was thinking of putting one of my boys in the front with the other son and the baby in the backseat for those occasions when the wife takes off and leaves us at home.

i think you mean kids that'll suck to make bodykits illegal for the front
however, it's not illegal to put child seats in the front, it's just not recommended, and it must be facing forward.
my 2 door coupe comes with instruction
