lol, debt is not. it just so happened that our previous two cars came to the end of their "lifetimes", so... there won't be new stuff in the garage for a while i guess

I thought you said before you'd never give up your 2GS since it's trade-in/sale value would be insignificant, it's gone now ?

yup, i said that before. besides gas mileage, the other big reaosn i didn't mention is the child safety. no kids yet, but the 98 gs400 didn't have the clips for child seats in the back. some people say it's not necessary, seat belt is good enough. but to us it's about that one time where you "wish" you had it. so we decided the car is too old (without the extra safety features) and time to move on.

You didn't say before but are you going to put wheels on either car? Is it a secret? Don't know yet? Wifey issues?
Come on, I wanna know. I love anticipation.

i would ask my wife, but i doubt it, coz' if she hears anything she would have told me. dash rattle had been a concern i have in mind too about the car, but so far it's been quiet

reggiek, i don't think my wife will let the gs350 go unmodded. look at her sc430 and you get the idea (everything was her idea on that car). wheels will go on the gs350 and lowering for sure, probably body kits too

and my ls460l? wheels had been on for a while, car has lowering module, and it's at the body shop already

thanks man actually i am a bit surprised how much my wife likes the gs350. nothing could ever replace the sc430 she had, this car is supposed to be "just another driver" for her, but she seems to enjoy it a lot!

the exhaust opening is very nice indeed on the ls. but honestly i don't like it on the exiv kit, looks kind of funny imho. we thought about smoky granite for a while, but eventually decided that black is the "right" color

tint for sure as well on the car, no cars of ours are un-tinted. the ls460l already has ceramic tint put on, awesome stuff. same will go on the gs350 soon

both cars have gotten clear bra as well. ls460l full hood and fenders, full hood on gs350. on obsidian, you can't go half hood

maybe im slow or just dont get it. rominl u stated that the IS350 is fast but the GS350 is a bit slow
IS 350 5.3 0-60 which equals 0.04 faster then GS350
GS 460 5.4 0-60 which equals 0.03 faster then GS350
LS 460 5.4 0-60 which equals 0.03 faster then GS350
GS 350 5.7 0-60

even if u compared the GS to the LS i dont think that u could even notice the difference in acceleration. If both cars were at a red light and if the person in the GS350 have a faster reaction time on hitting the gas pedal i believe the person in the GS would win the race. the numbers are too close to say one is fast and one is a bit slow. I could see if it was a whole 1.0 sec like the difference in the GS300 to the GS350 from 6.7 to 5.7. now that u can notice or maybe 0.04 is a big determining factor on slow or fast.
just my 2 cents im no car expert

you talking about 0-60? that's so yesterday, especially when you talk about cars with big engines like the ls460. talk about freeway pickup speed, that's a better comparison. that's where the power and tq really comes in

0-60, a lot of cars are so close so it's almost pointless to talk about. but freeway around 60-70mph and you pickup from there that's a totally different story. the ls460 would easily pull away from the gs350 to 120mph.

like i said, i was cruising easily at 85mph, and my wife had a tough time catching up. when i drove the car again the next day, i felt the same as well

bottom line, while 0-60 is still part of the measurement, but it's far from a complete picture these days

i agree with u, im not saying a GS350 will beat a LS460 but the 0-60 i think cant be ignored for the simple fact not to many people usually go 120mph. 0-60 is very important, most manufacters market their auto mostly on 0-60. but everybody has to go 60mph. u will find more people racing from red light to red light then racing then on the freeway. i can even see in a 1/4 mile i dont think the LS460 would just walk away from the GS. then u also have to think about that the LS460 is limited to 130 mph and the GS 143 mph so if u did beat me to 130 guess what u will be watching my tail light as i PASS U an go to 143 mph. lol ok

i am not discounting the 0-60, but then again i am not taking it with any more weight than the other tests. just like not too many people go hard (full wot) from 0-60.

i hate to say, but people i know don't really race from redlights anymore, and not sure where you get that idea of more people racing from redlights. couple people i know who race, they go on the freeways at late night and pull it hard out there. and a lot of high end cars they go for freeway runs

and what i can tell is just my feeling as well, real numbers could be different. i am saying gs350 works harder to get the same speed, doesn't mean it gets there slower. most people who have owned v8 will understand that

and by all means, pass me at 130mph. i will even let you pass me at 120mph. you are taking it out of context

(and by no means am i degrading the gs350, i am owning the car. it's good for what it is and that's the key)
