I dont think any car will achieve EPA gas mileage rating if you live in the cold climate and the car is on winter gas and you take short trips all the time.

I probably agree with The G Man. I'm in a cold weather climate, still breaking in, and I'm only getting about 12-13 mpg. I was starting to think this was abnormal. I do make small trips: work to home is only 4miles, city driving. I haven't been driving aggressively.... as there's been snow on the ground 80% of the time here. So I guess I'm wondering if I'm in the right ballpark?

Anyone else with similar experience or mpg?

I have a similar situation, 5 miles to work, all city driving. Not quite as cold as where you are, thank god 950 miles on the odo. My computer tells me I am getting 15 mpg. Hopefully it will go up in the summer when we get the summer gas and the car is broken in.

Here in Chicago at 1400miles, mostly city driving get about 13-14 mpg. I can get 18-20 on long trips on the freeway, thought most of the time they're stop and go as bad as the city streets. Glad I'm not the only one puzzled at my mileage.

I have almost 20k on my GS350AWD. Daily commute approximately 100 miles with mix of heavy duty city traffic and highway. Getting on average 21-23 mpg with a "heavy" foot on acceleration

Sorry to hear of the bad mileage. I have 13K miles on my 07 GS350 AWD and the worst mileage I have gotten is 18 mpg, normal is 22 to 24 and best on a trip was 27.5 mpg.

I live in Chicago area so its also been in the cold. I am probably 60/40 highway to city but have been only in the city and still not anywhere close to the 13 to 14 mpg range.

Something sounds wrong IMHO.

Default Cold weather gs350AWD

Hi guys,
Mine is at 19k mile now......during winter months I get 20-23 mpg comuting 15 mile each way from home to work. During nice weather months, I get as much as 27 mpg with Shell premium or Exxon 93. My GX470 gets 15mpg doesn't matter when..... I'm thinking about saying good bye to her once gas price hits $4+. I should have bought the GS350RWD but it was hard to get around here, Boston area!!!!
Take care

I think what people are missing here is the length of their commute. Cold weather usually plays a role in lowering the mileage anywhere from 1 to 3 MPG, but if your commute is 5 miles or less, you can actually drop another 2 or 3 MPG. When your commute is 5 miles or less, by the time you get to work, your engine has just reach peak efficiency. Then you have to shut it off and the cycle starts over again when you drive home.
