I guess it isn't a big deal. But I went to the garage now where new Lexus is spending its first night. I realized that the Lexus name on the doorsills don't light up. I guess that even though my GS350 was pretty fully loaded with just about every option (ML, rain sensing, parking assist, rear shade, etc.), it doesn't have that one. It's not listed on the door sticker that I can see.

I wonder if they could add it? Probably not worth it I guess (it's a $409 option if you get it put on at the factory). I'm not sure.

and even for 409 i am not sure if they can add it, coz it's not an "option" now anymore, you will have to get all the stuff

I believe its on the 460 and 450h.....not the 350...am I wrong?

for 08 it's an option for gs350 as well. i have illuminated door sills on my gs350. just for front though

on the other hand, i don't think gs430 and gs450h had illuminated door sills even for 06 and 07?

Yep, I have them on my 08....Sweet! Ask the dealer if it can be added...or even turned on if the wiring is already in place...you know how they do sometimes!

It's an available option accessory for all GS models for 2008, it's not a standard feature.

There was an 08 GS460 with ML/NAV as well as a 450h at Longo when I was there the other day with no lighted door sills. It's an option.

of course you can add it afterward... but when i found out the wiring goes directly into the door (which means doors panels have to be removed)

I gave up the idea and got a GS that was ordered with the illuminated door sills.

I love it, people have this theory that door panels can only be installed right once.

FYI, the Port installs the illuminated door sills. So your door panels will be removed anyway. Good luck.
