2008 GS350 Obsidian paint, clear coat or no clear coat?

Believe it or not, clearcoat is not really a requirement on solid color paint finishes. Toyota/Lexus has many paint finishes that are not clear coated. The solid colors they have in their pallete are of only single stage. I'm not sure how to prove it to you. Perhaps we have a Obsidian 212 volunteer daring enough to take a piece of sand paper and test it out.
There was a single stage paint discussion not too long ago here:

z2 is for clear coat finish, if there is no clear i believe z3 should be the one you use
zaino imho is a great balanced product, durable, shiny on most finish. however, they are not the shiniest i have seen, especially on dark colors they are definitely not the best. a lot of carnuba (sp?) wax are far better. on both my ls460l and gs350 i use klasse sealant (awesome stuff) and then carnuba wax

buffed a black onyx IS300 before and my pad turned black. It did only do this when i used a wool pad and compound. Nothing got on the pad when I was using a polishing pad with klasse aio.
