I have been a long time customer of my friend Joe Z and had his intake for my 2004 IS300 in the past. He asked me if I was willing to test fit a intake pipe he originally developed for the IS350 2GR-FSE. I said sure. So tonight we fitted and installed the intake with great success. We come to discover a few interesting things.
1) The oem intake tubing for the IS350 and GS350 are identical.
2) The oem air filter are identical in the IS350 and GS350.
3) The intake airbox for the IS and GS are similar in design but are different in shape and size. The IS box is not as tall as the GS'.
I'll elaborate on power and feel later after I drive the car more this weekend. So far I kept my oem air filter on and plan to switch to either the Blitz or go back to a cotton gauze drop in like the K&N or similar. The sound is obviously a bit deeper at WOT but sounds great.
I will post pics of my intake soon. When I find more time, I will post side by side pics of an IS350 and GS350 engine bay.
