i test drove a 2010 RX450h over the weekend, and it came with auto folding mirrors. i got to the demo, and disarmed the alarm. the mirrors folded open. hit the arm button, the mirrors folded close. i had fun for 20 seconds!

this can be done by a good car audio shop. all you need to do is have a pulse unit that send a 12v+ to the mirror switch when the ign is turned off ( just like a power antenna but in reverse) I thought about doing this but i have heard way to many bad things about the crappy motors in the mirrors and i dont wanna spend money to replace them. Any time i park i park out in the back with no other cars or i take two spots

ok i just read the other posts lol... If i get some time ill figure out what wires are need and how to wire up the relays or a pulse box.

I just thought to my self what gets used after the car shuts off..... the Tele steering wheel moves out of the way so i should be able to use this source since they move at about the same speed. this will make it a simple wire to wire connection.

It's very funny to me that with all the "auto" functions the GS has (steering wheel on start, backup camera - tilting mirrors - sunshade on reverse, door locks on park, etc...) they wouldn't have a auto folding option... who wants to have to fold their mirror in every time they park on a shady street? i really think this was an oversight and/or eff up that they left "as is" to save face.

And yes to me this feature is very very important but would also like a way for it to be disabled.

the pulse from the lock and unlock would also work.

POWER LOCK = lt. green-power- window master switch in door - Notes: Meter this wire while turning the key in the driver door key cylinder.

POWER UNLOCK = pink (double pulse)-power window master switch in door - Notes: Meter this wire while turning the key in the driver door key cylinder.

How about the front lights that stay on? Can we get power to mirrors from them?

that wont work u need to be able to have the mirrors fold in and out on there own. thats why i think the steering wheel tilt would work

i used to fold my mirrors but then i realized when folded, theres nothing to protect my door from getting dings when other cars open there doors too far. so now when i park i position my car for my mirrors to take the hit. i hate dings.

Couldn't you just take power from the window relay since those stay powered for a little while after you shut down or until you open a door? And they seem to stay powered since you can roll down from the remote.

the windows do not stay powered. after the car is off for a min or so, you cant roll them up or down if your still sitting in the car.
