Big Daddy, Corporate Lexus Lawyers, are just looking out for you. Acura/Honda has decided you are smart enough to program the Nav while driving. But, Acura/honda still has that annoying "okay" disclaimer button at every start-up. Choose your poison. I don't mind the limitations on the Lexus but fully understand those who do.

Perhaps, in 2010 Lexus will make better seats for me and more user friendly (while driving) Nav/Phone for you.

Not to pull this thread off topic, but:
There are hacks available, but who is to say with later revisions if hacks will still work. I think the point is you should not have to have to hack your way around for convenience.

I'll post my comments based on having just taken my first major road trip:

Likes:
- Super smooth 8-speed tranny - very CVT-like
- Highway acceleration and reserve power - 342hp feels great
- Growl of V8 (my first V8 in many, many years) - it's a great sound
- Styling and appearance - exterior and interior - fit and finish - quality
- Large touch nav screen and "agree" screen that goes away after 5 seconds
- Keyless entry/start - lots of "idiot" checks
- Decent gas mileage (my own, not specs) - 24 hwy, 18 city - hopefully will be even better after break-in period
- LED interior lights - very cool - not intrusive while driving at night
- Soft, soft leather seats (love the ventilation too)
- Low wind noise
- Bluetooth works very well
- AVS suspension options - works very well - love sport mode
- NOT having run-flat tires (had dealer swap for conventional tires)
- Comfort of seats, especially side support (my back didn't hurt once on my long trip - not so in my other cars)
- Parking assist - allows me to easily and consistently park in my VERY tight garage (less than a foot of space in front and back)

Dislikes:
- Drop down button box - open button not lighted, too hard to see from driver's position
- Headroom is not a problem, but just barely (I'm 6'2"). Wish there was a little more.
- At first the trunk space appeared to be small, but we easily loaded all my wife's stuff (and she has a LOT of STUFF). However, it would be nice if it were larger. Wish the trunk light were on the lid, not on the side, and brighter
- Voice recognition system not very accurate - with my voice/speech
- Ashtray - don't need it, don't want it, don't like it being there
- Cassette tape player - don't need it, don't want it, will never use it

After doing nav override and Vais installation, I have to conclude that I love, love, love my GS350 AWD.

So far, I have driven it mostly in the city, and MPG on my city drive is pretty bad compared to 4cly diesel i drove before, but in reality, it is pretty good for what it is.

AWD handles really well do - I took it on my mountain drive, never felt like I was going fast while I was pretty damn fast...

I love how it drives like small car, even though for europe it is quite big. I dont need more space at the back - thats where the kids go and for daily chores trunk is big enough and I will need to add top one for longer trips with 2 kids anyway.

Everything is high quality and I like that - soft leather, everwhere. I liked how easy is to take apart and put back (typical toyota), compared to german vehicles.

I pretty much end up wishing i didnt live in small city and I had to drive longer trips to work.

Well for $300 you can replace the ashtray with a JDM in-plane tray, kind of a knick-knack storage place.

And that cassette player is a great curio or retro conversation piece for some of us baby boomers

I love the quality of the car inside and out.
I love the curvacious stylish looks.
The 300 hp is cool.
I'm 6-2 270 and I'm comfy in the car.
The toys are nice.

Dislikes
Could use more torque.
A car this price should have top notch music. It sounds good but needs more punch.
The doorway is sorta narrow for getting my big butt in/out....but most sedans have the same issue.
It's not a coupe.
