I bought a 07 GS350 back in September and I noticed after the engine warms that there is a rather loud ticking noise under the hood. I asked my dealer about it and was told this is normal (they stated it was the fuel injection).
A friend of mine in VA has the exact same model with no noise and the wife and I looked at one in Loveland CO and it did not have this noise.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? It is loud enough that going thru the toll boths in Denver you can hear it echoing.

The sound of the direct injectors, which is normal, in my GS is very faint. It's acceptable as far as I'm concerned.

x 3, normal. I really notice this when I pull into my garage and leave the motor on. I wouldn't expect someone who parks it outside to notice this unless they are very **** and know everything about their car... LIKE ME!

The sound you are hearing is a characteristic of Direct Injection a feature that is relative to certain new Lexus engines. The loud sound you are hearing happens for the first 15-20 seconds during warm up. It quiets down after that.

i was about to post up and ask the same question lucky i searched.
I went to look at an 06 GS300 and hear the noise i thought somethign might of been wrong with the car. The sales man said its normal so i asked him to start up another GS300 and heard the same noise but only quieter than the GS that i was looking at.
good to hear that its not an issue.
