whlkev no, it wont be in the front, im thinking of the arm rest. its width is exactly the same width as my laptop. im looking for ways on how to remove the arm rest and make some mod to it. once modded, i'll mount the laptop on, so it'll look like it was built in.

It would be cool if you can make the mount motorized.

Isnt the whole premise of a laptop for it to be portable? With that being said, I like the idea of an external video feed and possibly Wireless Mouse and keyboard for the user offering comfy PC use from anywhere in car. if you are bent on stationary you can easily remove the top of the center console and replace it with a fiberglass unit that is leather wrapped and contoured to somehow dock or securely fit the laptop. this way wires can neatly be run into console and under carpet if needed for video feed. or rear seat user can lean forward and flip the lid open and type away.

I think mounting the laptop somewhere hidden and then adding a touchscreen interface that can pop-up would be the way to go... lots of custom work though.

On a somewhat unrelated note, the last time I needed to use my laptop in the car, I made my wife drive

im looking for ways on how you secured the laptop and run wires on the right arm rest.

here are the pix with what i meant

as cool as that looks i dont think its a good idea to have it in the center peice. you gotta think about where your arm is gunna be if you put it there and imagine getting something out of the center glove compartment. i like the setup on the BMW tho.

I'd rather not do the laptop and do the nav hack instead. Keep it clean looking . Don't overdo the inside it would make it look cheap in my opinion but, if you were hellbent on it then the sony vaio TZ series 'gold' color(sonystyle.com). It would match the armrest perfectly and is superthin. put it on velcro and then a swivel. The laptop also allows you when you order it to have it custom engraved on the front IE: Lexus or GS 350 whatever!!
