Default how to install a laptop in a 2007 GS?? tips please!

these mounts are what the cops use. they are ugly as sin and takes up the passenger seat.
have you installed a laptop in your car?

im looking for ways on how you secured the laptop and run wires on the right arm rest.

updates:
here are the pix with what i meant

photoshopped. the laptop is depressed into the arm rest to give it a sleeker look

i need to know how to remove this and where to buy another one. lol
we'll probably do at least two times to get the look and feel correct.
where can i buy one anyway?

That seems to be the only possible solution to moutning a laptop in your GS. I've brought my work laptop in my GS before. All I did was stack a small box and my clipboard in the passenger seat to elevate it. The GS really wasn't designed to have a laptop permanently mounted on the dash or in the passenger cabin area.

just out of the curiosity, why in the world would you want to mount a laptop in the car in that almost permanent position?

It'll be cooler to hide a mini-pc somewhere and run the display into the stock screen.

7 inch screen is too small. i need something bigger to be able to read contents like internet. im looking at my 12 inch lenovo x61 and thinking of ways to mount it securely and still sleek.

I wouldn't call you crazy because my friend actually did it in his bmw.

this was his ultimate decision to do on his e46 323i (now equipped with e46 m3 supercharged engine) touchscreen, wireless, actual PC, DVR... anything you would need

featured in many magazine, he did all the work himself after graduating from MIT, go figure.

if you are really a DIY type of guy, I suggest to go to his website for some idea, he has installed 3 different type of PC in his car along with many customs made screens for all types of applications.

Wow you need to get your friend to come up with an easier mod/hack of navi/dvd/bluetooth, he'd be the man to do it haha

Well, a mounted laptop still seems pretty clunky. How about mounting just a larger display somewhere. Hiding the mini-pc somewhere and accessing through a small bluetooth keyboard... Question is, where is a good place to mount a display...

there is no easier way without going full custom work (cut into the dash and what not)

the PC can be easily mounted in the trunk. If i were crazy enough to do this, i would simply install 2 very nice touchscreen monitors on the headrests for the backseat passengers to enjoy and play around with. Karaoke on small screens won't be a problem because they are very close to the screen. connect them to a PC running windows with touchscreen software.

*I sincerely hope you don't plan on putting this in the front somewhere, i can almost guarantee you will get pulled over for this not to mention the potential hazard + safety if airbag deploys.

i think this will be the cleanest way to pull this off, but that's just my opinion

yeah, those ram mounts look awful too.
but you are right... i was thinking of having the laptop underneath the seat with an extension cord up to a secondary screen. but still how can i secure the second screen?
