Poll Time - which OEM wheels looks better ? IS or GS wheels on GS300
A recent post got me wondering.... I feel like my 5 spokes are getting boring. I was looking for hybrid rims but that is hard to come by. Anyways, I almost like these better than the hybrid rims, what do you think ?? Yes, both sets are chrome.
Please keep it to these 2 rims, since I have the IS rims (all fronts) at my disposal and my tires are new. Which do you prefer ?

The ones that come on the car are fine. I always hated the IS wheels... the X package wheels look nice as well. BUT not the stock 17/18s that come on the IS, staggered or not.
Is there any reason why u wouldn't just go with aftermarket wheels??? To me, putting on another set of stocks is what honda/acura boys do... sort of downgrading if u ask me when it comes to putting on IS stocks onto a higher class car such as the GS.

The reason for sticking with OEM is that those are sitting in my garage now. I bought new tires recently so the fit is same and most of the aftermarket setups are not my cup of tea.....I also prefer an 18 because I drive thru potholes all day LOL, in fact I even went with 45 series for extra cushion. Some here go thru rims faster than underwear (reggie) possibly because the look is not quite right for this car.....I think conservative rims look better on the GS...

^ stay with the GS rims. The IS rims are a dime-a-dozen, about 95% of all ISs come with these rims, so they are common. If you want an exclusive look, try the G-spider rims . . .

I'm thinking about putting the G-Spyders on my black GS. What color is yours EyeKutr? Just curious that you didn't like the look... might save my g-note stick w/stock GS rims.

EyeKutr, did you happen to weigh the rims before you mounted them ? IIRC, the G-spiders are actually 2lbs lighter than the stock 5 spoke rims. For a 8lb reduction in rotational mass, you may grow to like the spiders . . .

Those spider Gs were on my car when I bought them, just did not do it for me, when I shipped them the boxes weighed 28lbs, rim was about 27 each, the 5 spokes weigh about 28.5 lbs each. The guy I get rims from only gets chrome rims. I have gone through a few different rims before getting the 5 spokes, in a recent thread I was wondring how the is rims would look and it is a almost unanimously....I should just drive the damn car and not worry about it LOL
