That's 2x 12W6V2 in my old E55. It rattles b/c of the license plate and frame. Otherwise it was good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81muFVAMUB4

haha. I only plan on doing 1 W6. Deciding whether or not to port it. I don't want it to overpower the rest of the system.

Porting will make it louder, but it won't be as tight. I personally like my sub bass to be very tight.

I always that porting made it loud, clean, and tight. That would be my reasoning for the ported box. Am I wrong?

Porting typically makes it alot louder, but boomier. A sealed enclosure will be more accurate and tight, but not quite as loud as ported (given same size/specs).

Depends on the type of music you listen to mostly.

I listen to a wide variety. From rap and hip-hop, to punk, to mellow rock. Whatever I'm in the mood for. I have 2 10"s in my truck now. I'm thinking of going with one 12" W6. I'm guessing in a sealed box with fiberglass resin like my 10s in my truck.

Rap and hip-hop normally sound really good with a ported enclosure since it's naturally "boomy" music. Mellow rock, jazz, classical will probably sound better with a sealed enclosure for accuracy.
In my old car, I went from 1 10" JL W6...wasn't enough.
Then did 2 12" W6....started losing my hearing after 1 month.
Ended up with 1 12" W6...was perfect for me.
All were sealed enclosures (my preference).

If you're on the fence about ported or sealed...you can try and listen to a few different types are your local car audio shop to get an idea.

I prefer a tight and on note sound. small and sealed would be best... for me anyways. lol. even though i dont use my trunk much, i still like the idea of having a whole trunk without sharing it with a sub and amp.

I listen to a lot of trance, so it's very fast, sealed is much better for that. I recommend Audison amp and Hertz subs. It's freaking badass!

I'm thinking 1 12" W6 sealed.

That would be fine...though i'm tempted to go with two myself :P Then again in my E55, I had a gas tank in between the back seat and the trunk...so one should be just fine.

I have 2 8w7's ported thru the rear deck. It's powered by a 500/1.It's alot better than stock.I think I should have got a sealed enclosure,it plays alot deeper but not as tight. The low end over comes the mids & highs.
