Default Anyone here with transponder installed on their car?

like a permanent mount transponder to enter your gated community on the windshield?

i was wonder where you put yours? to the right of the rain sensor seems to be a good place to put it but at that region, it has those black dotted tint looking thing, i was wondering if it's okay to put it over that?

any one?

I have my FastTrax toll road transponder mounted there and haven't had any issues.

transponder for gates are on different frequency than the ones that can be programmed for homelink.

Our second community gate actually uses the same remote as the one for our garage as they have a special unit that's attached to our garage opener.

so i can't program that remote for homelink too

you saying you can't program your garage door to the homelink? that's bummer. i thought even for running codes if you have the training button on the opener that's all you need

yea.. it works for running codes for my parents home in CA. However, the garage opener for my AZ home isn't a rolling code system, it has a proprietary receiver that's attached to a "normal" garage door opener. this device is able to distinguish between each remote that all residence have for the front gate and their own garage door.

so it doesn't work for homelink

as for the transponder, next to each gate, it has a receiver that detects the transponder so only residence can go in and bypass the security gates. This is certainly not programmable to homelink.

I live in a gated golf community and the security gate opens using the homelink in my GX. I did have to program the homelink with the gate remote.

yea i know gates remote is programmable if it's workable, I've lived in gated community all my life, the golf community i live at n AZ is very different than what i am used to as well.

o well, just found out that our transponder is RF so the black dots will interfere with the signal, he had to put it next to that

Aren't they all RF they have a frequency right. The dots will only interfere if they have some metallic content in them which i doubt. Sounds like you have it all mounted already but next time try just holding it in your location of choice before permanently mounting it.
