Default 430 Pre-Own Value

I am trying to sell my GS, but I am not sure of what it is worth. I have been to a couple of dealers in my area (DFW) and cannot believe the numbers.

2006 GS430
12,900 miles
Fully loaded, ML audio, Nav etc

Lexus dealer quoted 35k
Carmax 36k

I checked the online value sites, they average about 40k trade-in.

Before I placed on e-bay, wanted to get ideas from here.

Thanks

I've seen high 29k range to 45k range, depending on miles/dealer.

What was your Msrp ? Remember, the GS460 is out, so the 430 is technically obsolete, no matter how pristine the condition. For example, my '06 IS350 had a Msrp of 44k, w/less than 17k miles, best offer I got was 31k, so you will take a huge depreciation hit if you sell < 3 yrs from purchase . . .

Carmax likes to offer low wholesale blue book, sometimes better but not by much if you traded to the dealer.

^ It doesn't hurt to get a free appraisal from CarMax before you head to the dealer. Worse case you can get the dealer to match CarMax to make the deal . . .

when I was in the market looking for a 2006 GS 430 in 7/07...
KBB quoted $40K for dealer trade-in. a pre-owned Lexus certified $43-44K.
I would suspect that the value has depreciated more...esp. since the
GS 460 replaced the GS 430.
$35-39K is a good target range...but market will always dictates itself
e.g. real estate

yeah i don't think the wholesale values are too good for the 430 right now. we were trying to sell ours before the lease expired to make a few bucks since we are really under mileage and already got a new car.

i think wholesale (Manheim) was like 31k for mine with 34k miles. i don't think mileage matters as much as AGE/model year right now, esp since the 460 was released...

not a great situation. just glad i leased ...
