Default how 2 add XM or sirius

I want to add satelite radio to my '06 GS is it better going through the dealership or someplace like Best Buy???

Also, do they have to crack open the dash and fiddle around with the back of the radio or is it a more simple process?

thanks

I sort of shopped around for satelite radio and ended up having it done by cerrittos lexus for $625 - Longo wanted $800 and Glendale wanted over$1000. And yes it requires taking the dash apart. Good luck.

the dash doesnt need to come apart, I dont know who told you that. I bought my sirius brain and adapter from sewell lexus for my 2006.. if you have ML then basically everything gets hoooked up in the trunk and then you just have to run the antenna somewhere, I put mine on my dashboard because I have 5% tint and the metal in the tint was blocking the antenna from getting a signal on the rear deck.. if you have no tint the rear deck is the way to go..

I live in MD and having dropped off my GS300 for some warranty work, they gave me a fully loaded HS to drive around and I absolutely fell in love with the Satellite Radio (don't knwo if it was Sirius or XM but I want it in my GS ASAP. The dealer in OH where I bought the car wanted $625 and knowing what I know now, I should have gotten it done there. My dealer wants around $1K. I'll be calling around and checking prices with local dealers. Even if i buy the parts through eBay for say $300, a shop will charge another $300 for installation. So if I can find someone to do it for around $625 I'll probably go ahead and get it done.
