I have an '06 GS430 with the Navigation, ML sound, etc. If I have been reading this forum right, I believe that I have ver 5.1 software. Several colleagues of mine with Acura RL's and '08 Lexus' have the live traffic feature on their navigation screen. I contacted Lexus about an upgrade, and got nowhere. I also have XM Radio in the car, and contacted them about providing the live traffic "push" to my system. They seemed confident that it would work, and activated it from their side. Unfortunately, nothing. Even after having them try several times.

Does anyone have suggestions or experience in upgrading to this service for an '06?

umm, interesting, can it be actually done?

i know it's available on the ls460/600 (the LS is the only model from factory with this feature now), i thought the brain is different in order to process the data from XM?

Unfortunately GS does not have the ability for Live Traffic update on the nav.
It is only available on 07 LS460 and 08 LS600h.

Acura RL is the first car to offer that feature, Lexus is slightly behind in that area.

Having XM receiver to get the signal from XM is only 1/2 of the equation. The Nav unit will need to understand and display the information, which the GS Nav does not.

I am afraid not. Lexus is just behind in this department.
