You can switch out the bulb or you can contact Aerotect one of our vendors for clear bra to see if they can cut out red vinyl/film to cover that section.

thanks for the tip guys...actually i wanted to have a red bulb rather than fully covering the clear part with a film...I noticed the new 5 series is clear on the outside but when it blinks completely red

if you kinda peek through the lens, it looks like it's just a bulb in there. follow the instruction in the manual to change some of the bulbs in there to see if you can access the turn signal.
but honestly, I think the new 5 series LED rear design is ugly as hell

I like the BMWs being clear and then flashing amber. I'm not gonna debate the aesthetic qualities btw red and yellow cuz that's personal preference. I just like it amber because you can actually see that it's a turn signal. One minor reason I consider American cars inferior is because nearly all have red turn signals, usually just using the brake light to blink. It can be really hard to tell if the person is changing lanes or just tapping their brakes. Unless they leave it on for a while so you can see the pattern, but most people just blink one time before they turn (if they use the blinkers at all). If a tail light is out, then you can't tell at all. Toyotas have a habit of burning out tail lamps frequently as well so if Toyota uses that method, that could be bad too.
I like the clear section cuz it looks sportier. If it blinks amber, even better cuz you can tell it's a turn signal. I liked the E46 3 series LED brake lights. That was a good design. Especially when the outer ring lights up when you brake really hard.

I think if the rear flashed red it would look awesome. I tried pulling the bulb out last night but there is a wire harness thats in the way of the bulb..I decided to just leave it afterwards...anyone down to try it??

I have the red light bulb for the turn signal... you don't really see when it's not lit. To remove the amber light bulb you just need to be a bit patient because the tight space. Try to use a small screw driver to keep other wiring out the way then you should be able to rotate/pull the turn signal light sucket.

I believe you can also look up from the owner's manual.
