Default OK - My Dash/Windshield creak is Fixed!!! - Yippeee!!

This morning I pulled out of the garage and watched my temperature gauge hit 17 below zero!! - I parked outside about 4 hours and got inside the car and it was like getting into a freezer. The tires were so hard they did not even flex when you hit a bump. And --- Not one peep out of the dash! - This is after a couple weeks and temps hitting 40 and going back to below zero. I can say that this dash rattle is a thing of the past! - I truly love my car now and am really enjoying the quiet ride!

Yes the dash rattle can be fixed! - Even up here in the frozen north. If you don't know what 17 below zero feels like, you don't want to! - Waaaa!! I want to go to Florida!

Years ago I was in a twin cities suburb when it went down to -26 degrees. Yes, that sure is cold. Hope I never even see the freezing mark around here.

Well, it took 2 visits and a printout of all the *****ing on this forum. I told them I did not want to make 5 visits and to take the problem seriously. They did all of the TSIBs for this problem, plus they padded the dash and windshield in 'lots' of areas. They told me that there is "not 1 fix for this problem' - that it is a combination of fixes to solve the problem.

You just have to stay on them to get it fixed - But knowing that it can be fixed, is the first step in getting it fixed.

Most windshield noises a atributed to the clips used to install the glass at the factory. The TSIB requires cutting the clips so there is no longer contact between the clips and the body.

As a lot of forum members have found out, this won't by itself solve the Dash/Windshield creaks and rattles. It will help, but if you live in a colder climate than Georgia, the dealer will have to employ 3 or 4 fixes to finally solve the problem.

no.

but chances are the clips are removed already, but if not, you just have them saw both of them off. The clips aren't the issue though. even without those, mine still rattled.
It's more of a rattle from the creeping of the windshield and the dash rubbing together.
