Default CD/DVD player won't play or eject...

My ML player all of a sudden won't play or eject any of the discs that are in it. I was watching a DVD waiting for my wife and it must have had a scratch on it because the picture got stuck. I ended up turning it off to listen to the radio. The next day when trying to play a CD all I get is a light grinding/churning noise like the mechanism is stuck or something. Has anyone experienced this in their player or know of a solution other than bringing it into the dealer?

Thanks for the help!

Dealer, I wouldn't bother to mess with the headache. Sounds like they might have jammed a CD.

You should try rebooting your system or disabling the battery and resetting the electronics. Sometimes this solves the stuck disc symptom in many Lexus models with the 6 disc in dash.

Strike the side of the console while trying to eject.

Bring it to the dealer.

The same thing happened on my IS, and they changed the whole CD/DVD player.

You hit a bump and one of the discs was forced into the eject mechanism which jammed. Really simple to fix. Touch the eject button. Take a coin or credit card and gently push in on the CD cover door. With care, the door will flip up and the disc will pop out. Reload and relax. (Happened to me on Sunday!)

I tried the credit card tip from rwdds (thank you very much) and it worked! The unit spit out all 6 discs. I reloaded two of them, one CD & one DVD. It switches back and forth and plays them both perfect again. My dealership ordered a new unit for me yesterday though after I brought it in to show them.

Thanks again for the help!

Thanks for that recommendation. I have had 6 cds stuck for atleastr 8 months now. Took to the dealership and they said nothing they could do, cept chrge me $800 for a refurbished one. I tried this trick right after reading and got all 6 out in less then 2 minutes after I started.

The credit card trick worked perfect!

Default CD door wont open

I had a stuck CD and with the credit card I was able to get the CD door open and ejected. I made sure to do very softly and after that I was able to enter another CD regular. Now the door is jammed and will only open to load/eject when use coin/credit card. Th light does come on and turns green but still the door does not open. I am not in a warranty any suggestions?

The credit card trick worked on my 2007 Lexus IS250.

I disconnected the battery for a bit and reconnected. Navigation rebooted and sticked a credit card in the slot for 10-15 seconds and the cd came out!

Thanks!!

I just had that same issue where the DVD player wouldn't do anything and the radio or auxiliaries wouldn't work. I balled my fist and tapped above the DVD player and the CDs started to eject. Now everything works properly. Thanks
