Possibly an owner of a GS300 '06 coming from a Mercedes
Hello there,
I was an owner of an '05 C230K Mercedes which was totaled last month. Thinking of staying with the MB family, but keeping my options open. Today I saw a '06 GS300 fully loaded. Anyone who has the same year / model, any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well here's the deal. I came from a 2000 E55, then 2005 S4 and now the GS600. Obviously, with the 230K, you never really experienced real power, so the GS300 will be plenty. But the GS350 has more and is more fun---from what I read. I've never driven the 350.
In comparison to a 2007 GS350, the 300 has the 4th gen nav. the 350 has the 5th gen. From what I understand, the only difference is that the 5th gen is prettier. Who cares really... I did, but I no longer care. BUT if I had the choice and were able to, I'd get a 2007 GS350. Not to say the 300 is bad, quite the contrary!
So, how does the GS compares to your W203? It's day an night. The features on the GS are amazing. You'd have to get the entire option catalog on the 203 to get what the GS has. And then, there's more, like the keyless go in MB, there's the...whatever it's called..smart access I think. You get ventilated seats too. The interior with the blueish led's are sick. You get directional headlights that illuminate the road in curves, you get bluetooth...it's really nice.
Then there's the customer service. I left Mercedes b/c I was getting pissed at their weak service. Lexus is so much better.
I think I've seen your s/n on mbworld or mymbonline before btw

Yes, it's a Lexus CPO dealership located in the Bay Area. I was thinking of negotiating an extended warranty with a price point $35K. Car is currently advertised at $35,968. Also, the NAV CD hasn't been updated. I believe it's recommend to updated it every 3 years at a cost of +/- $300. Maybe they can throw in an updated software too.

CPO is good. Every CPO Lexus includes 3 years warranty/100k miles from the date of purchase. What extended warranty are you talking about? It's standard.
I think if anything, get it for 35k out the door, that'd be a sweet *** deal!

hmmm...i'm pretty sure the guy said it was a 4 yr/ 50K warranty. he didn't mention anything about a 3 yr/100K. If that is STANDARD for CPO, then I will most definitely purchase it.

LOL! 3 Years is not a long time though. My bro in law who bought a 2008 Camry has a 7 yr/100K. Now that's a warranty. Lucky him, he new someone at the dealership and only paid 1K for the extended warranty.

Besides the Nav and engine, any other diffrences between the 350 and 300? I too am thinking of picking up a 300, but not sure if i should just wait to pick up a pre-owned 350.
