Reviving this post, I must be stupid or something because I can't find any information on the TPMS on my 2007 GS350 AWD. I'm assuming (dangerous, I know) that this archaic system doesn't show actual pressures on a display anywhere and will only flash at me when one or more tires have lower pressures than the others, correct?

It will flash for a bit once you start the car but if it keeps flashing for a while a sensor is faulty. If it immediately goes solid right after you start up it’s low air
So basically if you need to replace the TPMS, the dealer does NOT have to do it. any competant shop can.... You will need to get anything in the 315MHz range.
GL Everyone! If you need further help with TPMS sensors, PM me (as I don't follow threads often).

Need to be careful with the angle of the valve stem. 315MHZ part makes sense but if the stem angle is bad the sensor will hit the rim or stick out towards the tire making it easier to damage while mounting or if you get a blowout
I had similar experiences.
i got new TPMS to replace old ones but still the error would not go.
You need to programme all new TPMS if you are changing them.
Because I didn't have the programme tool, I went back to the old ones. Opened it and replaced the battery. Let me tell you that it is not an easy task. You have to be very patient and careful when doing it. It took me 4days, 1hr every day to do one.
Soon as it was all changed (battery) I fixed the TPMS valves. After driving for about 3miles, the error went out on its own.
My check system came on all suddenly..when to discount tire to check air and tpms.
They checked air ok at 33psi.
Then check checked each tpms and al ln reading ok with no message saying battery bad or out.
I hit reset under dash no solution
spare doesnt have a tpms and I still put air to recommended psi. No luck.
