^ Problem with leds as your drls is you lose the high beam functionality. The leds are white since they only need a few watts to fully power, and the drls operate at less than 1/2 power. When you click your highbeams, the leds won't give you more light. . .

The parking light is one thing (the small wedge base light), the DRL is another thing (the high beam working at half wattage)

I considered LED for the parking lights. The cheapo LED on the internet usually dont fit right and sometimes they fall in the highlander housing, some people have tape them to the socket, I just dont want to deal with that. The name brand LED usually are not bright enough, unless you buy their Japanese imported super LEDs which is like $50 or $60. Thats too much to pay for a parking light

i have some really high quality LED that fits perfectly and lights up purple/white, matches the 6000k perfectly.

It's just too much purple up front for my taste, so I went back to stock bulb for the parking light..

it's yours for $20 shipped if you want

Actually I was look at LED that are pure white, I dont like that blue purple hue, If they would not match your 6000K, they will not match my 4300K

Let me know when you find the PURE WHITE led too, i've been looking for a while. Also, to clarify, it DOES match 6000k of mine =)

just everything too purple up front.

i think all LED bulbs if they are white will glow about that 6000-6500k color temp. some are more blue than others tho.

I just installed white LED 194 bulbs on my friends truck for his running lights and i really liked the look. looked more white than it did blue.

it is an 11 SMT bulb and was super bright and looked really good at night. i haven't seen it yet during the day, but i'm sure it'll do fine.

i highly recommend it for someone to test out on their 3GS. pricing is very reasonable too.

link to the bulb: http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/P...id/0/SFV/32481

simple rule of thumb..the more LED's, the brighter it will be. make sure to buy an SMT type bulb. its the newest technology and glows whiter than the old style LED's.

use the coupon code "miata" for about 10% off

hope that helps.

Hey G, I know this thread is old, but I just saw it. I have the PIAAs in my parking lights, we could meet up in Boston and I could show you exactly what they look like if you want.

i posted this pic on another thread. here is the exact color it looks like at night. white with a lil bit of blue tint to it. check the pic i attached..this is it in a parking light on a 2005 tundra double cab..the way the parking light lense is setup it diminishes the light a lil bit and his headlights are tinted reallllllyyy dark black on the outside..when i had it out of the truck it was like a flashlight it was so bright..

always buy SMT (surface mount technology)..its the newest tech and is brighter than a regular filament bulb as long as you have a good amount of SMT's on the bulb.

13 bucks a pair..

if you guys try this and think its too bright..try the 5 LED SMT..that one is still bright..just not as bright as the 11 SMT bulb.

you get great 360 degree light emittance with these bulbs too.
