Default K & N air filter

Have anyone install a drop in K&N filter for the GS350? If so, did it make any difference gas mileage or performance wise?

Supposedly, on the IS350, it lost like 1 hp. Oh well, I'm still going to go with a drop in from K & N.

i have it on my 2GS300. just something to do. as for mileage/peformance, c'mon, a $50 mod, how much more power do you really expect? the way i see, the car gets a bit more air...just gotta keep it clean.

i think it has slightly improved gas mileage in comparison to pre K&N. hell, it paid for itself on my 20K service when i told them i had a drop in and didn't need the dealer to replace it. i think its worth it for $40

Well, thats why I ask. K&N drop does improve gas milegae and HP on some cars, but it can actually decease gas milegae and HP as well. I guess it has something to do with the air intake and fuel / air mixture calculation.

put in a drop in on the 430....hard to determine improvements since I don't drive the vehicle daily and as I had commented before...Im not the one with the heavy foot...but, noticed a loss in gas mileage (i think) cause wifey reported, "car felt faster.." she's probably gunning it now....
seriously, doubt the drop-in on a 350 will do anything but save on future replacements....search and you will find this topic w/ different opinions !

Thats the problem with drop ins. A lot of the time people report gain in HP and gas mileage but it is really due to the fact that its a new filter. Sounds like the GS already breaths pretty well already and may not benefit from a high performance filter.

Most modern cars will gain very little from air flow mods, especially without ECU retunes. Cold air intakes and exhausts on modern cars are more for resonance tuning ( making the car seem faster bec its louder ). Not to say the little extra noise would be a bad thing on the 3GS which sounds more like an electric car compared to by old G35, but I wouldn't expect a whole lot of change in power, mpg, or response. I dynoed my G35 after every mod and Im telling you from experience you may get 1-3 hp from a cold air intake, and maybe 6-8 hp from a cat back exhaust

EyeKutr, I see you own a GX470 also. I just traded in my GX for the GS350 AWD. I put in a K&N drop in on my GX and did not feel any diff. mpg and hp wise.
