Default Going to take my GS in this weekend for repair

I want to have the low dust break pads put on, and want them to take a look at the rattling I hear from the dash whenever its cold out.

Is there a specific way to go about doing this? Should I expect some sort of resistance from m dealer when I call? Do I need to mention they are TSIB's?

they can type in your VIN nmber and pull up all TSIB's on your specific vehicle, so no static there. There is a TSB on the dash rattle and on the break dust, with new replacement OEM low break dust pads.

You should be ok.

With the dash, suggest that they remove the dash and felt everything top to bottom, every connection and connecting point.
Also remove the windshield clips (probably already removed at factory) but if not remove those as well.

Might take a few times with the creaking dash but in the end they fixed mine, so good luck.

I just had both issues looked at yesterday with my brakes replaced under warranty and no issues. They should already be aware of the issue and not give you a hassle.

Well, I called them up and they were aware of both issues. Bringing it in on Saturday. Hopefully they give me a LS as a loaner but I doubt it. Im guessing the dash rattle issue will not be a ten minute fix.

Don't we all wish... The nicest I've ever seen is a GS350 loaner w/o NAV. Otherwise, RX350, IS250 or ES350.

GS350 as a longer? that's nice. Most Lexus dealers will give you RX350 if you show up in a SUV or ES350 if you show up in a sedan.

I can tell you that Longo has 2 GS' and 2 LS' as loaners but they don't give them up that easily. We're talking VIP only (whatever a vip may be at Longo). When I had my '02 GS in for service they did give me a 3rd gen GS as a loaner - it worked because I traded in my 2nd gen for a 3rd gen after driving the loaner around for 5 days.

I took my car in last Thursday for the dash rattle problem. It's completely rattle free now.
They were familiar with the problem, and took it very seriously. They had the car 6 days(including the weekend) so 4 working days. Master tech works on rattle problems, then they let the car sit overnight and test drive when cold. At my dealership, Service Manager must go on test drive and sign off on the repair for this problem, and he still heard something after the initial attempt, hence the 4 days.
From service invoice here is what they did:
R/R Dash Pad insulated as per NV004-06
2 08231-00801 Noise Kit
Removed both top/bottom windshield pins
They also stated that they padded the area around one of the ducts, and other areas.
Had the brake pads replaced a while back, I can't imagine they would have a problem with your request.

Thanks for this, I have sent this on to my service dept as my car is in for the rattle for the 4th time.

At least they loaned me a RX400h w/nav - very fun to drive...

I hope they don't give me an ES or an IS. Coming from a GS that would just be boring.

Mine is currently at the dealer (been there since Fri 1/25) for the windshield clips (no dash rattles) as well as the musty/moldy smell from the HVAC. Should be completed today.

Not to hi-jack this thread, I've replaced the cabin filter as well as sprayed Lysol in to the outside intake with minimal effect. The dealer told me the "temperture control box" needed to be to be replaced. In order to get to the box, the entire dash had to come out. I made it clear to the dealer that there were no rattles of any kind coming for the dash and I wanted it that way when the car was returned.

Default my service tech tells me...

They have performed all fixes listed here and that there is another TSB on the rearview mirror, so they replaced it and are currently testing my car to see if the noise is gone...

Dropped mine off at the dealer at 0700 today for both of these issues. Got an ES350 loaner. They didn't give me any hassle on the break pads. They did want to test drive the car to confirm the dash noises before agreeing to a repair. They heard them.

I still have the loaner. Interested to see how long they have the car.

Sad thing is we're in the middle of a snowstorm so the AWD would have been helpful.
