Default Can you beleive, the 3rd Gen GS is 3 years old already?

The 3rd gen GS was revealed over 4 years ago and I bought my first gs in Jun 05 and later got a used one which happened to be one of the first ones off the Longo Lot in March of 05 with Feb 05 build date....43K miles later, car still looks and drives like new. Aside from a few familiar rattles and the fuel line recall, this car has been flawless. It needed new brakes recently, otherwise all regular maintenance only. Body holding up great, paint is flawless, not even a door ding. This car must have better panels than most cars on the road to hold up this well. What a great car it has been....Anybody else have a car from early 05? How is it holding up?

here is one of my favorite pics...

You aren't kidding, time does fly!

I found the thread I created soon after I picked up my GS430 back in June of '05. Seems like yesterday https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=166949

Aside from some annoying rattles, the GS has treated me well. No major problems.

I agree with you 100%! It feels as though just yesterday the 3gen rolled out of the factory.

Yea, it really hasnt seemed that long. To me I think the 3GS is still a really fresh design. Personally I dont think this years refresh was needed yet. It could have went on for another year IMO.

^ 3GS sales are still sluggish, less than 2,000 units/mo total across the lineup. The refresh may be an effort to boost sales especially with the debut of the 460 engine. . .

I have to admit that I didnt realize that they had even redesigned the GS until about a year ago. Not sure if that was a marketing issue or what. It was looking at the GX470 for my girlfriend that I saw the GS in the showroom. The first ad I remember seeing on TV was for the 08 GS.
I think the design is the best in its class, although the rear end looks a bit like a maxima.
