that's what i have been trying to say. trying to pick on color especially this blue hue from pictures, that's not going anywhere (just like trying to say what color is your hid from pics...)
i haven't driven the gs350 enough during the day to see what it's like, but i am pretty sure the light emitted are white. reflections and other stuff, that's a different story

Well, it seems like some of you have never noticed the blueish hue on the gauges. It could be that some of you guys have the auto tint disabled. Push down your box of buttons and press "Mode". I have mine set on Auto-ClusterGlass-Norm.

ok, it's time to close this thread.
here is the final verdict
the WRITINGS & BACKLIGHT is white not BLUE
the only reason it appears BLUE is during the day where the rear sensor (around rear windshield) senses a bright light, the gauges automatically creates a blue hue to make the gauge easier to read.
and yes you can adjust the sensitivity.

Driver-Assist Braking Control, or DABC, the first in the world*1, aims to enhance driving safety and contributes to passive safety by controlling the brakes for gentle deceleration according to the speed of the vehicle ahead (optional on the GS430).

Hi Guys,
I swear when I test drove the GS, the instrument gauge ( I think this is what it is called..where the odometer and all those gauges are) had a hint of blue. In my car, the gauge shines WHITE at night, but for some reason, I remember there being a hint of blue (kinda like the Acura TL). Additionally in the 2008 Lexus Model Guide (that came with my Lexus magazine today), the GS instrument cluster looks to have a hint of blue as well. Is there any way to change the color so that there is a hint of blue? I know in the drop down panel (to the left on the driver's side) with all the buttons e.g. trunk, gas, side mirror folding, there is a button to change the way the odometer looks with respect to the amount of sunlight, but I don't think this changes the color of the instrument gauge, right?
Any help is appreciate.
Cheers!!

under the back break center light, look real closely. You have a little camera that judges how much light and from what angle it's coming into the car and tints the glass accordingly so you don't get sun glare and so you can see it the best.
Don't you feel special now.
