I have 1000 miles on it, so the pads should have been broken in by now. I did not brake hard the 1st 300 miles like the manual said. My brake dust are not that bad, I can drive a few days b 4 I notice a slight built up, maybe the 08s do have the TSIB pads already. Foe some reason, the squeaking goes away after the pads warm up.

if you love DIY, you can take apart your brakes and sand the surface down and on the rotors and redo the bedding to ensure proper break in.

in the ideal world, rotors should be changed whenever the pads are replaced.

I don't know how willingly is the dealer on fixing the squeal.. doesn't hurt to ask right?

As I recall, I had the brake TSIB done at a little over 5,000 mi. because I had it done with the scheduled service. They didn't do the rotors, he told me that putting miles on the brakes would take care of that. He also said I really wouldn't feel a difference in braking. I do, but it is what it is. my brakes look Is it too late to ask them to do the rotors? I now have just a bit less than 12,000 mi. I guess I didn't do the proper break-in or whatever.

I also did mine last week on a 5000 mile free oil change service. Yup, it faintly squealed so I took it back after a week, they inspected everything and told me everything looks fine and to be safe. I figured it needed some more break in and I sort of expected this knowing that they didn't replace the rotors so I didn't argue. It is going away but still squeal once a while. Hope it goes away...

Tjp74, are you saying you switched over the the low dust pads and the squealing quiet down. I dont think any new car with a 1000 miles on it should squealing brakes.

G Man, I don't want to speak for the others, but I think what they are saying is that like me, the original brakes worked fine and never squealed, but the amount of dust from them was intolerable. Unlike others on here, my new TSB pads did not squeal when first put on. It had been several months before the screeching started. As I've said and in agreement with Bozer, it is very embarrassing to drive up to a stop light or to meet friends and have my car sound like this. I guess I'll have to try to make time to take it in and maybe see if working on the rotors will make a difference.

Damn, I was hoping to get them to change my pads at my 5k service on Tuesday next week. This really makes me think twice, but on my 08, the brake dust is still very bad.

GatorWBP, I cant find a TSB for the 08 pads. Some say it had low dust pads already, some say it isnt. I will let the dealer figure out what I have.

If you have an 08, and are getting excessive dust, that's why. You need the 04465-30400's.
This is from the other thread. Im just going to mention the part numbers to my service advisor and give him the TSB number for the 2007 and see what he says. But the squeaking has me concerned.

I have the squealing too. Had the low dust pad done at 5K service. Car now has 19K and it has been squealing a little here and there in the last 1-2 months.
