As far as the 335 goes, its a nice car, but at least here in the NYC area all over the place, too common.
If only Lexus would get a little more sporty. They are just getting into that with the IS-F, which I think looks a little tacky with the added on aerodynamics bodywork. The way they did it just doesn't look right to me. Maybe if they added a sport line to the GS they would sell a little more ?

Hmm, have you test driven the S5 and G37? Nice cars, but somewhat smaller than your current GS300. If you don't need the room, then I guess it's a moot point.
I myself love the S5. Great looking car and good power.

go test drive the s5, they are out, most dealers should have then in stock, i would get the s5, in a heartbeat you dont see many on roads even the s4s they are alot more fun to drive, the infinity sucks , cts is no better. how about a gs450h? or gs460 they are faster? the Mercedes c series is about the same size as is350 if not smaller.

All of the above were cars I test drove before buying my GS.
Cadillac, nice, but I the entire time I drove it, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was missing something, it is not sporty enough, not enough room, not enough of anything, but the price was nice and it came AWD.
The Benz...looks good on paper, but the interior is still outdated, it has no power and it is very small and if you want AWD, you'll need to wait until 09 for the 350 AWD.
The Audi...great drive on the S5, but with that said, I would take a 335 as it is faster and although the inside is nice, it is far less sexier than the GS.
The G37, if speed and cost are your only concerns, you cannot get a fast/luxury/coupe for cheaper. 10K less that the 335.
But I picked the GS, ofcourse you already have one, so for me it was a no brainer, but you want your car to want you to stay inside it for longer than 10 minutes and it does that.
Lease the GS 460...Regis, that's my Final Answer!

for the S5
"A manual-transmission S5 is the only version of this car made available for us to test so far. Audi says it does 4.9-seconds 0-60 mph, and it feels that quick. The S5 has plenty of power for any situation. The manual transmission disappoints with long throws and less precise shifting and clutch engagement than we've come to expect from Audi. "
For the 335
"No all-wheel-drive models, wagons, or 328s with automatic transmission were made available for testing. With manual transmission, the 328i has smooth, sufficient power for around-town driving and highway passing. The 335i has abundant power at any speed with no noticeable turbo lag; a test coupe with automatic transmission did 4.7 sec 0-60 mph. The automatic changes gears smoothly, but downshifts can lag behind throttle inputs. With either engine, the manual transmission has silky-smooth shift action."

Hey DaCajun,
The S5 has more power than the 335 (coupe) for all comparitive purposes, 355 or so to the 300, respectivley, but the difference is the power distribution. I do not know how the 335x coupe is doing, but the RWD 0-60 times are 5.1 for the S5 and 4.8 for the 335.
You are talking about a heavy v8 direct injected versus a light twin turbo v6.
(I would easliy take both cars, I repeat, I would take both cars, in fact, I am not sure in another year or two if I would go with the RS5 or the M3 simply because the RS5 will be AWD and in live in MD), but with that said, when I drove them, the 335 is a more nimble, quick on the draw car and when the turbo kicks in, it flies.
I did not get to really push the S5, as it was a dealer demo, but the off the line is fast, but the AWD makes for a more diliberate start a little less whiplash like, probably the reason for the 5.1 0-60 time.
So to answer your queastion, yes, I think the 335 is faster.

I love all 3 cars but I would like to bring up one of my own personal concerns...trunk space.
The G37 is a VERY nice car but when it comes to trunk space, there is essentially none.
The 335i woo wee, fast car, looks good, plenty rear seating and trunk space. Probably would it for the 10k mark up.
2009 GS350, maybe you'd want to wait for that.

I know its personal, but I think the Audi has the nicest looking interior, follow by the G37, the BMW pulls up the rear. The GS still has a nicer interior than all 3 of them, but the Audi is pretty close.
