Like the S5 too, but there is a long waiting list and bad lease prices on them !

It's ridiculous how identical your dilemma is to what mine WAS.

A couple of years ago, after a RIGOROUS search of several cars, I ended up staring down the GS big time. Drove it, tasted it, smelled it, had it for a weekend ... liked it, but ... didn't love it. Waited to see if the '08 refresh would move me, but no such luck. See, I hate sedans. Though the GS was the only sedan I would ever look at seriously, in the end, it's still a friggin sedan. Unsatisfied, I walked away.

About a year ago, I eagerly anticipated the arrival of the G37. I was convinced that was the car for me. In August '07, the week it came out, I convinced a dealer to let me have one for a day. Ooooeee. Wow. Much fun, but ... it was lacking something, something I couldn't place. I think it's that there's a lower level of "quality" (fit and finish, materials etc) of which the whole Nissan/Infiniti brand reeks. Set it aside for awhile...

Unsatisfied, I resumed my search. And I believe it was around August '07 that I learned of the A/S5. Stunned by the pictures, awed by the design, I salivated at the thought of this car. In October, I drove the S5 the day it arrived at a nearby dealer. This car moved me -- mentally, emotionally, and yes, even physically. I know it SOUNDS sick, but this car aroused me, and I'm not kidding. To this day, when I look at the A/S5, sexual thoughts run through my mind, and my loin tingles. Yes, I might be disturbed, but I don't think it's the car that I want to bang necessarily. I've thought about this a bit, and I think it's that when I look at this car, the areas of my brain that are "triggered", are probably the same areas that are triggered when I see a hot babe, or a million dollars in cash, or a delicious pizza. I hope it's nothing more than that, otherwise you might be reading about me in the news ... kinda like that guy who had "encounters" with a picnic table recently.

Anyway, I've ordered a Trip S5 for about $58k. My baby should be arriving later this year in an '09 model. If you wait a couple years, not only should you get better deals, but you'll likely see the car improve in many areas, including the A5 going to 300 hp, a sun/moonroof that fully opens, and yes, the unbelievable DSG in both models, and likely an RS5 starting out in the $70k range.

Don't expect Audi to be mass producing these cars; they won't. And that should only further boost its appeal, mystery and residual.

Best car I've seen in a decade and best stock system I've heard in the Bang & Olufsen (even better than the ML Reference in the LS for me).

Unfortunately, Lexus' refusal to cater to the mid-high end luxury GT/Sport coupe segment means a loss of my business.

Even a compressed youtube file can't belie the quality of the B&O system.
