New GS350, A5 or G37 ?
My lease for my 2006 GS300 AWD will be up in about 9 months, but I am already starting to look for a replacement. I like the GS300 so far and think its a great car just way underpowered. I am wondering if the GS350 is enough improvement over the GS300 features wise ? I know it has the extra horsepower, does that feel like a big improvement ? If the 2009 GS will have more improvements, I may wait for that.
For you guys with other cars which other cars do you like in comparison to your GS ? I am looking at the Audi A5 or maybe even the S5, but the wife wants me to keep the payments down, because we want to buy a house soon. As a lower cost alternative I am also considering a Infiniti G37 maybe not quite Lexus quality, but it got a nice refresh and a little more power.

i would go for the audi a5 being that it is a new model line from audi. but like its been said before. never buy the first car made. always wait until they fix all the glitches so preferably the second year is best. but in my opinion once youve had a lexus ill never go back to anything less
also infiniti does not match up to lexus standards and neither does audi. if you want performance with alot of luxury as in ride, quietness and very dependable i suggest you go with lexus. if you want just sport, go for the infiniti and if you want german performance go for the audi.

If you really like the GS300 except for the power, then the 350 is a great choice. Really comes down to whether you just want to try something different or not which is one of the pluses of a lease. Choice B for me would be Audi S. IMO just can't beat the Japanese for reliability though with a lease maybe that doesnt matter so much.

They are all nice, but if your wife wants to keep the payments down because of the house, then G37 would be the best choice. Good value too, plus the interior is a good improvement over the G35.

I echo everyone's sentiment, I would get the S5, driven it, it is a fun drive and German is great...under warranty, but prices being a factor, I think you will be bored with the A5, slow in comparison, spec wise, and it is not as nicely styled as the S version.
G37 on the other hand, nice styling, good speed and not a lot of them on the road, plus it will keep the payments down, get the increased speed and a new look for the driveway of the new house.
I personally never liked going into the same car twice, it makes it seem like I didn't make a change. My opinion.

My GS300 has been really reliable and a great car but since I am leasing I tend to want to try different cars. I would get another GS if they radically changed or improved it.
If they had a GS coupe I would be there in a minute. As far as other lexus models.....the IS350 is too small, less luxury. The LS series is not for me yet....maybe when I am older.
Two other possiblities were the Mercedes C350 series. I just have to see how small they are. Also the Cadillac CTS. It seem like they really improved it this year, it's just that in the regular form the power is not quite there, but in CTS-V form wow. It's just a little expensive.

I love BMWs! Their performance and handling is top notch. The 335 coupe is ridiculous, even the sedan is great to drive. You should look at one of them as a slightly more economical option.

Given those three I'd choose the GS 350 first and foremost because I prefer four doors to two but...umm...I'm just gonna say it...
...I have seen a few of the new A5's and S5's around town now and unfortunately I am really not impressed. I am even a huge Audi fan, and still I was let down once I saw the car in person. The first one I saw, honestly made me think "brick". All surfaces of the car are so flat and the lines of the car are very hard...it looks like...a brick. When the pictures came out I thought the car was absolutely stunning and really one of the best looking Audis ever. Now? I'm not so sure, and might actually prefer the Infiniti and 3 over it. Maybe the LED headlights will take some time to get used to, but for now I actually think they look very busy and a bit foolish.
I also don't mind the G37 but the GS is faster, gets better gas mileage, has a nicer interior, and more room.

You'll hate the G37 in about 3 weeks. They're beautiful and very fast, but a little like sex- the first ten minutes are awesome, then you just want to get out! Interior details are not nearly as refined. Fit and finish are not up to Lexus standards. Bose audio system sucks. I had a '04 G35 coupe, all tuned and banged for performance. It was a kick to drive for a few minutes... then all the little deficiencies and details would just annoy me. Finally, Infiniti service is no better than any ford or chrysler dealer... maybe worse! My .02.
Audi's are a better choice.
