I just finished my oil change....very easy thanks to moolman!!!! About the oil filter cap, i used one that my dad uses for his 96 camry. fit perfect!!! it cost like 6 bucks he said! and the 7 10mm bolts can be screwed off with a philips screwdriver.

thanks alot, clear pics too. i agree, u probably spent like 40 for that right? (not including the rip off oil filter cap), lexus charges 65 so after a couple more times changing ur own oil, u could save alot. also i dont think lexus uses full syn oil, i thinks its like a kendall syn blend...

I just wanted to post that I'm switching ISPs soon and going on vacation for a month, so the pictures will go probably go down on 7/20 when I cancelled my service. Maybe someone else can host the pictures if not I will put them back up in the future when I get a new ISP.

Thanks for the comments.

As I stated don't buy the SST tool and the oil that most Lexus dealers use is probably conventional oil even if they tell you it's some blend unless you are specifically paying for it on your invoice, they are just pumping bulk oil from a big barrel, that's how all dealers, oil change shops do it unless you pay extra. I still don't believe that synthetic makes much difference at 5k intervals but I still do it because I feel like it, but to save money, I would just stick with Castrol GTX.

Sifrido,

Auto Zone has a $5.99 65 - 67mm filter cap, but it doesn't list what vehicles it would apply to. Do you know if this is the cap for the GS350?
Thanks!

okay, so it's a fact that it takes a few steps to do oil change.
however, it really makes me wonder... are those steps worth $150 like dealer charge?

what a rip off...
