GS350 AWD performance in the snow
I am finishing my first winter with my GS 350 AWD in the Chicago area and just wanted to provide some feedback on how the car drives in the snow/ice.
We have had a bad winter in the Chicago area so I have had lots of time driving on snow and ice. I am very happy to report that the GS drives as well in the snow as my wife's RX. I have had no traction or slipping problems and am very happy with how the car has performed. When buying, I was debating getting a 400h instead of the 350 AWD and given our winter, I am very pleased with the decision to get a 350 AWD.
One other side note, I did put the Continental Extreme Contact tires on my Tourmaline rims and I think they have contributed to the solid performance in bad driving conditions.

Yeah, AWD and a good set of winter tires is the only way to go. I went with Nokian Hakka 4's. This is my first AWD car, and I agree with your assessment. This car is amazing in the snow.

My AWD Lexus isnt' the safest car in heavy snow conditions. I have good tires too (Bridgestone Alenzas) - according to tirerack, they are among the best, but they aren't a pure snow tire.. Maybe that's why
