My 1,000 mile review -- VERY positive
#31
I always hear complains about the drop down box from owners and reviews. Just imagine how busy the dash would look with all those buttons on it. Kind of like the new Acura MDX, I think someone counted the number of button on that car with the tech package, it was like 78 buttons or something like that.

My 2007 GS350 has 1700 miles, bought it on 11/07, love everything about this car except the road noise from the 18" Yokohama tires, and not impress with sound system when listen to radio.

I wonder if folks who complain about road noise have had hi-perf summer tires before ? My '08 GS came with the Yoko Advans, and quite honestly I don't hear more road noise than I did with my IS350 with Dunlop Sport Maxx tires. Besides, I rarely drive in the car w/out the radio/CD on, so road noise from tires is never an issue...

GOOD FEATURES (NOT in any order)
[A few things I missed when first posted and am adding now:]
- Backup camera (maybe not quite as useful as I thought it might be, but it does come in handy sometimes, HOWEVER, I find the parking assist MUCH more useful than the backup camera; having them both is great)
- 3 memory settings for passenger and driver's seats (this is better than the LS which does not have memory on the passenger side)
- New car interior smell (gosh I wish it could last forever)
BAD AND/OR USELESS FEATURES (NOT in any order)
[A few things I missed when first posted and am adding now:]
- Heated seats (nothing at all wrong with them, it is just that are useless to me personally since I live in the Silicon Valley where winter lows are in the 40s and my garage is warmer than that; I have used them very briefly 2 times this past 3 months of the winter)
- Air-cooled seats (although I fully expected to love this option, it proved useless in practice since most of air is directed to the legs where I don't sweat rather than to the back where I do.)

We get low to mid 80s in the summer here for highs, but a few days a year we get the 90s.
Maybe it'll proof useful yet. Still, in hot weather I sometimes sweat on my back in the car, so that's where I wish the air would briskly rather than minimally.

Sounds good. Since I got the car in December, I haven't had a hotter day than the mid-70s to test it yet.
