Default Engine Covers

OK, sorry if this is ridiculously stupid, but I cant seem to get the clip that holds the engine covers to click back in. I removed the seven from the front cover and the ones from either side cover, and cant figure out how to "re-engage" the clips to hold the cover back on.
I did my XenonDepot 6k D4S bulb switch and cant figure out how to click the clips back in.
You press the middle down to remove them, but what do you do to put them back in?

Thanks for any help for this silly issue.

thats a simple answer. simply take the clip and push the tip downwards on to something hard, it will push the center back up. put it in place and push the center down to make is flush... tada all done.

Thanks
but what was happening is that the prongs now stick out and dont fit in the hole, pushing down the center pulls the prongs in.

dang, without a picture its hard to describe/follow whats going on. lol

ok, u have to try to get the prongs to stay together. try to hold them all together real quick and then put them in quickly so the prongs dont come apart. sounds funny, but i do that or...

take the clip and put it in place. then i wiggle it until i feel that all of the prongs are in place and holding the cover down.

Thanks all. First thing this morning I got up and finished the second headlight bulb replacement and got all the clips in. I had only gotten in one of the 6k d4s bulbs in last night.
From past experience, just pushing hard to get something back out has sometimes not worked out well and didnt want to break a clip.
Im going to be needing to remove and replace them again when the indicator bulbs come in.

I usually try to spread those 4 pongs and then push the pin up with my fingers to prevent breaking the taps. They are pretty easy to break, I broke one of them putting in my parking light and my dealer gave me 2 of them for free.

They changed the clip design for '08, it works differently than 06-07 clips. What I did was take a needlenose pliers and turn the tip of the center pin about 1/4 turn (counter or clockwise) and it will release the spring and you can push the pin back up thru the clip. FWIW, I nearly destroyed the 1st pin before I figured this out, thinking it worked like the old 06-07 clips (on my 2IS).
