Default Brake dust

Have anybody tried waxing the front rims to keep the brake dust from building up. I put some zymol polish on the front rims and so far no brake dust after 4 days.

Did you get new brake pads? There's a TSIB for brake-dust-less brake pads.

There is no TSB for brake pads for the 08 yet, I was told the pads on the 08 have a different part number from the 2 version of pads in the 07s.

honestly, 2 weeks after washing my car, my rims aren't that dusty. I don't want to deal with squeaks and this is tolerable.

I am gonna stick with my stock pads.

again, if installed right, i don't see why less dusty pads would be squeaky

hmm....waxing the rims have not heard that one before I might do that next time I wash my car. Can you just use the normal wax that we use to wash ours cars?

I agree... that brake dust is truly annoying. By the end of 2 weeks, my rims look like i had them powdercoated gunmetal. I have never heard of this wax the rims technique. i gotta try it out. Thanks for the tip!!

sort of off topic question: Does the stealership provide non-dust pads?

there is a tsib to replace the pads with the ones from 450h, which have less dust

I have a 450h and there's still quite a bit of dust.

may depend on other factors, where you live, how much dust is around, how often you brake? maybe?

just wash the car weekly

I usually start to see brake dust after 3 to 4 days of driving. Its not as bad on the 08 17" oem rims becuase they are liquid graphite. I use the zymol polish becuase its finish is pretty smooth and it last a long time. Its been 7 days now and the rims still looks good. Now I have to do the back rims
