Eiso, have you driven a 2IS ? IMHO, you need to get a 2IS rental or loaner and spend at least 2 days driving it to be sure you'll be satisfied with it. I did the exact opposite (traded a 2IS for a 3GS), and have no regrets. I needed a bigger car with a 'real' backseat, since the 2IS is really a 2+2 with 4 doors. The 3GS & 2IS share the same platform and the GS350 & IS350 have the same drivetrain (2GR-FSE engine, 6 spd auto, brakes). The GS has about 15 cf more interior space, so you'll notice the interior space difference. If you're avg sized or bigger (>5'10") you may regret trading down to the IS...

I would either keep the 3GS or enjoy true sport and get the Boxter S! If room is your thing, stay where you are, if it just you and the GF, then enjoy the Boxter with the top down...the car that is!

I purchased my GS350 Sept 2006, pretty much right when it rolled out. I was thinking about the IS350, because the GS300 was lacking the power I was looking for. Once I realized that the GS350 was out, I never thought once about the IS.

I also traded my G35 for a GS350 and there is no comparison. They are two totally different vehicles. I would get the G37S if you want a sportier ride before I would get an IS350.
However, I am totally happy with my GS and am glad I made the choice I did.

^ I know a gal at work who is considering the same thing, she has a 06 GS300 and is looking into a IS250, difference is she leased and she's looking for lower pmts when the GS lease is up - different strokes for different folks...

Daddy's GS is the one that rolls off the lot and stays as is, I say keep it because if you want to be different then it is going to take mods.
By the way, my kids and kids' friends love my GS and are always checking into what mod I am doing next. It looks like I am lowering it with Tanabe springs and putting on the Tanabe exhaust next.
Mod it out - waste money there instead of the loss you took with the new GS you already bought! At least the mods look/perform good and they are fun!
