Default Different GS350 AWD Test Drive Experiences

Hey Everyone,

I've posted a couple times regarding lease deals and tires in the past few days, as I have been seriously contemplating acquiring a GS350 AWD. There are a couple additional issues I would appreciate your feedback about:

1. I test drove the car in Chicago yesterday when the temperature was 32 degrees and there was snow outside. The engine was virtually silent at idle and during acceleration. Acceleration was extremely powerful. Today I test drove the car in Kansas City (I flew to Kansas City to see if I could get a better deal, which I can) and the weather was sunny and in the 50's. Not only did the engine sound like a diesel engine both at idle and during acceleration, the acceleration was also extremely sluggish--much slower than what I experienced in Chicago the day before. Why do you guys think there was this discrepancy?? I would have expected the opposite--a loud engine and sluggish acceleration in the cold climate rather than the other way around!

2. The color selection is extremely limited in Kansas City. I can select an obsidian/cashmere, starfire pearl/cashmere, or matador red/cashmere. The matador red has 1100 miles on it because it's a demo, and the dealer is not willing to lower the price beyond what they are offering for the ZERO mile obsidian or starfire pearl. What color should I select? The red seems a little gaudy since it's not the deeper red of the ES or LS, the white is just kind of plain, and the black will be hard to care for. Opinions?

Thanks!

Could be the type of gas in the engine of the car at Kansas City. If you put mid-grade or regular, the engine will react and respond different. I have noticed that alot in my car when switching premium to regular, and I just stick with premium.
